As of 5/31/07 we have 29 slips. All are taken with the exception of two. Our storage lot is full, and we have no one on the waiting list. We have some upkeep work to do ultimately in the storage area, but our docks are in good shape, having been recently pressure washed and stained.

LOCK UP YOUR BIKES
The kids are out of school, and apparently spending their summer vacation wandering the lanes of Regency Cove. On or around May 23, two youths were driven into the park, and within a very short time, stole two 3 wheel bikes, and escaped through the back gate.
In a separate incident, loaded gas cans and fishing equiptment were taken from one of our boats.
All residents are asked to stay alert. If you see suspicious people in the park, call 911, then contact Chet Hindman (416-5105) or a board member, or the office. Try to get a license number, and a good description. If your camera is handy, take a photo.

Rain Barrel Gardening Workshop
Date: July 12, 2007
Time: 11:00 am
Where: the clubhouse
The Florida Extension Services will present a workshop on rain barrel gardening. The class will last about 45 minutes, and each household that attends will receive a free rain barrel with a spigot, to put under one of your downspouts.
Our goal is to reduce the amount of water that is currently being used in regency Cove, and subsequently reduce our staggering water bill. Pre-registration is required. Sign up in the information room, or call the office.
The first 22 households to sign up will receive their barrel at the class. If resident volunteers with trucks will assist the horticulturalist, then all attending will receive their barrels at the workshop. We'll keep you posted!

Master Gardener Visits regency Cove
When: June 28, 2007
Time: 10:00 am
Where: Clubhouse
The Beautification Committee will have its first meeting with Lisa Strange, the horticulturist from UF Extension office. She will be evaluating the landscaping of the homes that were signed up and will make recommendations for plantings and feedings.
We are striving to create a gardening group that will assist our residents in proper selection and maintenance in the Florida-Friendly style of gardening. This includes utilizing micro-irrigation systems, and environmentally safe fertilizing and pesticiding products.
We hope to make Regency Cove a model community for the city and the state, by using thoughtful and environmentally friendly methods and products.

Tampa Water Emergency
Tampa remains under an emergency water shortage issued by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. Lack of rainfall, drought conditions and an uptick in demand have taken a toll on Tampa's main water supply, the Hillsborough River Reservoir.
The emergency order allows Tampa Bay Water to draw additional water from the Tampa Bypass Canal to add to the Hillsborough River Reservoir. The extra water will maintain water pressure and water quality, the district said. As part of the order, Tampa is required to aggressively enforce its one-a-week lawn watering rules and establish an emergency plan with Tampa Bay Water and the district if drought conditions persist.
During a recent week, the city paid $472, 000 to Tampa Bay Water for 200-million gallons of water to supplement its own supply.
How you can help
Tampa's Water Department wants help nabbing water use violators.
- Anyone who observes illegal watering by home or business owners should call (813) 274-8036 and leave a message with the address, date and time of the violation.
- Broken water lines or hydrants can be reported to (813) 274-7400.
