As a Snowbird that comes to enjoy Regency Cove every year the pool is suppose to be open till 10:00p.m. THIS IS A RULE, why is it not followed??? I have gone to the pool at many different times and you never know when it is going to be closed it could be 5:00, 7:00, or maybe not at all. We can't use the pool during the day, we might splash someone's hair or sit in someone's place in the hot tub. Have you ever used the Hot Tub on a cold night, its wonderful. Maybe we should have a maintance man work till 10:30-11:00pm so we can obide by this rule, I am sure there are plenty of jobs he can do during an evening shift.

The pool right now is open. Ellen said there's no reason why people can't enjoy the water as late as 10pm, because its so hot. There is a group of people who manage the pool in the winter months. Perhaps YOU should join them. This is an excellent topic for a monthly Board meeting, if you won't bring it up, I will.
I have never seen a reserved sign near the hot tub. I can't imagine anyone reserving a seat in the hot tub. These people need to talked to.
I can't say that I share your enthusiasm about an evening maintenance man, because there is so much going on in daylight. Again another Board meeting topic.

Thanks for writing. Think about assuming an alias... there are too many ananymouses here.

Did you not not read my blog, I said I was a snowbird, of course the pool is open now, they do not cover it in the summer, I am talking about the winter. I have been in the hot tub and told to move over because these are her jets, I have moved just out of respect of my elders.
As far as a maintaince man assuming an afternoon shift there are many jobs he could do. Do we really need 4 men during the day, they could help with security, maintain the dumpster when people over flow it, clean the rec hall, ect

ELLEN SAID, ELLEN SAID, DOES SHE OWN OUR PARK OR DO WE, You go to board meetings and she shuts you down if you have an opinion and she does not agree, why would anyone want to speak at a board meeting, this is a great resource to speck openly an see what others think, if they agree with your thoughts or not.

To those few elderly teen-agers who still have a NEED FOR SPEED, hopefully you have been financially successful and saved up a lot of money because when you injure someone within the park you are going to need it.

I have send 4 posts since 8/18 and only one of them have been posted.(I may be doing something wrong?)If a post is censored by the blog administrator is the person who posted it given a reason why? My main concern is the fear level of many in this park to speak up at meetings or feel the need to post as Anonymous-this is not healthy. Also, the uneven approach of enforcing rules.I was told 2 or so years ago to remove my bike from my shed roof-yet,accross the street from me they have their bike on their shed roof and this is were i got the ideal from. Also, the last time they trim trees in the park i called the office and told them many branches, etc had scratched my car.I was told thanks for reporting it-yet no one called me or came by to look at the damage done.We have a great park but we can make it better and be much more respectful of each other.

Don,
I have only rejected one comment because it served no purpose other than to show total and absolute disrespect to member(s) of the board. The purpose of this blog is to communicate information, and for residents to comment on the informaton. You can agree or disagree, but please, folks, be respectful. We are sincerely trying to be open with this new format. It IS a brand new idea in Regency Cove, and not everyone is happy with it.

You must remember to hit the orange "Publish your comment" button when you are through typing it. It then comes to my email. It may be the next day before I get to it. Then I publish it or reject it. No, you don't get an explanation, that one nasty thing didn't deserve an explanation.I don't mind disagreement. It is good to see more than one side of any topic.

Regaarding uneven enforcement... our new appeals committee will eliminate this. You bring your concerns about your violation to the committee of your peers, and they will listen. If they determine that the manager's letter was out-of-line, WE (the board) will listen. Its a win-win situation, unless the violation is legitimite.

About the car scratches and tree trimming, please put that in writing and send it to the board. Then it will HAVE to be discussed.

Thanks for your comment.

Living in paradise-thanks for taking the time to response.I think everyone deserve a explanation if they are censored, thats just my opinion. To freely exchange ideals calls for this level of respect and may help eliminate some of the fear of speaking up.Thanks again.

I have no idea how to respond to individuals. When someone leaves a comment,I have the opportunity to accept or reject it. I have no way of responding back to a commenter. It truely is an anonymous system.

I with with your statement on healthy echange of ideas. Its very good for our community.

Dear "Ellen Said" Annonymous, After reading your comment I have become concerned with the blog becoming a finger-pointing personal attack on individuals. Annonymity does not command attention and respect. Those of us who have an issue with an individual will get more respect and attention if we identify ourselves. While most of what you said is true, I hope that next time you write a comment with personal criticism you will identify yourself. Anyone else making a personal criticism should do likewise.

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Don, I was once told by a board member that people don't speak up because they don't have guts. Well, you sir. have GUTS! And you are correct about the uneven enforcement of rules. Hopefully this will be corrected by the new committee of our peers.

To have security you need to have a speacial license for that, and even if we were to use them for security, they would only be able to do what our volunteer security can do. Which is call the cops. Unless they were armed but that even more money and another license we would have to get.

Now as far as the rec hall goes, i dont now if you go up there every mrning when maintance begins work, but they clean that rec hall every morning. And if they can't that obviously means there to busy on other projects in the park.

And you ask "DO WE NEED 4 MAINTANCE PEOPLE DURING THE DAY".

When the question is "Have you ever walked with the maintance people t see what they do"

(to the moderator-please dont edit, this should be seen by all, that is what this website is for. Thank you)

I would like to say that i think we have a great maintance crew, they have been very helpful to me many times.I would like to also to say Peggy and here co-worker have been the best in the front office. We are lucky to have this great crew.I have a State of Florida Security license(expires 9/24/08) as well as 10 year experience in Security-from 2 tours in Viet-nam in a security platoon as a asst. platoon sargeant with 33 men and 9 years in state and federal prisons.Lastly, dont think i want to give up my happy hour to patrol the park.

Hot Lips, I read your comments with interest and a great deal of relief as I was beginning to think that I was the only person in the park that was genuinely concerned about the speeding. Perhaps the worst of the speeding is on Canal. I have seen drivers during both day and evening hours that go at highway speeds past our house in both east and west directions. If other residents are concerned with the speeding, please contact me and maybe together we can work on a solution.

WHY ARE WE LOCKED IN AT THE BACK GATE? IF IT IS NOT FUNCTIONING IT SHOULD BE LEFT IN THE OPEN POSITION. WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE TRYING TO GET SOMEONE TO THE HOSPITAL QUICKLY? WE JUST TRIED TO GET OUT ON GANDY AT 7:30 PM ON FRIDAY AND IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE SO WE TURNED AROUND AND CAME BACK INTO THE PARK. FORTUNATELY WE HAD NO EMERGENCY. THE GATE SHOULD NEVER BE INACCESSIBLE. IT COULD COST A LIFE EITHER BY THE DELAY OR BY AN ACCIDENT TURNING EAST ON GANDY. WHY DOES THE BACK GATE LOCK UP IN THE EVENING? ARE THOSE IN CHARGE TOO PARANOID TO REALIZE THAT THEY ARE PUTTING ALL THE RESIDENTS IN DANGER BY CLOSING THE BACK GATE? WAKE UP, FOLKS! WE MUST HAVE MORE THAN ONE EXIT AT ALL TIMES! ALL THE BICYCLES IN THE PARK ARE NOT WORTH ONE LIFE IF YOUR FEAR IS THAT BIKES MAY GET STOLEN! IF SOMEONE WANTS TO GET INTO THE PARK THEY CAN DO SO VERY EASILY. I AM 73 AND I COULD DO IT WITHOUT A PROBLEM. IT WOULD BE EVEN EASIER FOR YOUNGER PEOPLE TO DO SO. HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT MOST OF THE LARGE AND FANCY APARTMENT COMPLEXES IN THE AREA ARE OPEN? LET'S GET REAL AND QUIT BEING SO PARANOID! BEING FRIDAY, I SUPPOSE THAT WE WILL BE "LOCKED IN" ALL WEEKEND. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!

Okay lady's and gentlemen, it's about time for you to step up and make your comments about this $20.00 across the board maintenance fee increase.

My comment goes like this; now the 'board' is establishing that we are all equal as shareholders. This type of (spread equal) maintenance fee, means, that you, the owner of that beautiful water front property, which represents hundreds of thousands of dollars of investment, have become equal to that person who just bought lots at a give-away price on boulevard three. In case you still don't get it, that person would receive the same for his share as you.

When and if, and the inference is put on 'when' rather than if, this Trailer park is liquidated; the establishment of "all is equal" will have been made by this move.

I am elated because now my minimal investment will be worth the same as the big investors. So please don"t make maintenance fee's based on share value, like you have in the past!

Moderator, your showing October 5th as last comment. What is the use of having a blog if day after day we look for input and nothing is posted and we know comments have been made. What's the deal anyway?
