I had the pleasure of spending some time on Moday with two representatives from the Division of Business and Professional Regulations. One came from Tallahassee, the other from the Tampa office. They presented at the annual ROC Forum Board Orientation held on March 21, 2011. Three of our board members attended. I was saddened to hear that there is a bill (HB 5005) attempting to eliminate the Office of Compliance which oversees mobile home parks and condos.
The bill is attempting to deregulate many professions, including CAMS, our licensed community association managers. What in the world are they thinking about?
The FMO Watchdog group claims that this bill may take up back 20 years or more. We need to let our representative know that we strongly oppose this bill.
