Board Meeting Feb.16

A Board meeting has been announced for Saturday Feb 16, at 10 am. It is rumored that the seawall will be discussed and voted on by the Board. This will be an information meeting for the residents, because it appears that the seawall engineer Reuben Clarson will be present to answer your questions, and so will an officer from First Community Bank.

Well here we go again lady's and gentlemen, look forward to assesments that will cause many of our residents to sell their homes if the existing board has their way about this seawall business, because it appears that the trend is to the HAVES and not the HAVENOTS. And buy the way, wasn't it just a short time back that the First Community Bank wined and dined the board, what's up with their sudden involvment with Regency Cove? This meeting should be real interesting, Saturday, be there!
Decisions like this should not be left up to an outgoing board (member), this type of behavior is remmonisant of what a president does when leaving office, but there it's called; dumping all the bad, like reprieves, exonerations, commutations, etc. etc.
We have some great people running for the board this time who are up to date with the the 21st century and they should be given the chance to make the associations decisions because they will be the ones to follow-up for the next few years with the directions our community will be going.

Anonymous: Your comment has some errors that need to be addressed immediately. First Community Bank has never wined and dined the Board, unless there was an intimate dinner party of which I am unaware. You are probably referring to the History Book reception of Spring, 2007. The two people who wrote that book, Judy Webb and I (not on the Board at the time) arranged the party with the help of the couple (Bedores)who sold many of the ads that helped keep the price of the book down from the $50 publisher's cost.
DO NOT INCLUDE the Board in any way with the production or the presentation of the History Book, or with the wine and cheese reception. First Community Bank was new in the neighborhood, looking for ways to acquire new customers. I have moved several CDs there, in thanks for their generous offer. They are friendly and professional in everything they do.
I ran for the Board around the time of that event because only one person in the park was running to fill the vacancy, besides the two incumbents going for their positions. There would have been no election at all, if I hadn't decided to thrown my preverbial hat in.Its encouraging a year later that so many are running for 4 seats.
Maintaining the park and protecting the investments of the residents is the primary responsibility of the Board of Directors. It is NOT a battle between the "Haves and the Have Nots", so get that ridiculous notion out of your head right now.Just the age of the park, the pipes, the sewers, and the seawall indicates that money is going to have to be spent. If you lived in a condo or in your own home, the same would be true. The new people on the Board will soon enough be dealing with issues of seawall and other major concerns. After the Board votes on whether repairs are necessary to the wall, there will be scores of later decisions to be made.God bless us all to make wise choices.

Too bad some people who write on this blog can't be accurate with their statements.......they just rock the boat..........every chance they get....unfortunate.

Anonymous said things like this shouldn't be left up to an outgoing board member. WHY? Do they suddenly become stupid at the end of their term? Are you suggesting that new board members come into office smarter than those leaving it? Maybe the old ones care less about the park after serving countless hours in service every week? Get real.

I agree the meeting will be interesting and informative. Please go!I don't think he suggested to tear out our old one and start from scratch as some residents keep talking about which would blow the price out of sight. I believe their was three options on how to proceed, all were spread out over years, time frames to do the repairs in. Their is proably new rules or laws in effect which may change the height requirements similiar to new homes which are being moved in here now, flood zone. Please go listen, ask questions so you'll know first hand what was or was not said!!!!!!
