Yesterday morning, our manager Cheri was observed being escorted out of the office building by member(s) of the Board of Directors. Her position has been terminated.
This is a sad day for Regency Cove.

On May 7th at 7pm, almost 50 shareholders met at Sunset Point to formulate a recal for Betty Ridge,from the BOD. The meeting went very well in spite of 2 residents voicing thier oposition in an extrememly unruly manner. Actually, this turned out to be a plus, as it really strengthened our convitions as to how some people really are..it made us stronger.
FIRST LET ME SAY THAT I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO POLITICAL AMBITIONS WHAT SO EVER IN REGENCY COVE. WHAT I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED WAS TO HAVE A STRONG BOARD THAT RAN THE PARK AS TO THE WISHES OF THE MAJORITY OF THE RESIDENTS THROUGH A QUALIFIED PARK MANAGER. IT APPEARED THAT WE WERE FINALLY GOING TO BE ABLE TO GO IN THAT DIRECTION WHEN CHERI SCOBEE ARRIVED ON THE SCENE. JEANETTE AND I HAD CONVERSATIONS WITH CHERI. UNLIKE OTHERS IN THE PARK CHERI SEEMED TO BE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE WITH CHAPTER 719, THE RIGHT THAT PROTECTS US ALL. AFTER A CONVERSATION WITH CHERI SHE STRONGLY STATED THAT EVERYONE IN THE PARK WOULD BE TREATED EQUALLY. WHAT MORE COULD WE ASK? IT SEEMS THAT A FEW PEOPLE ARE DOING THINGS WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE RESIDENTS FOR THEIR OWN GAIN AND CERTAINLY NOT FOR THE GOOD OF THE PARK. WE ALL DESERVE TO KNOW ON WHAT GROUNDS CHERI WAS TERMINATED.
Sheri was not escorted out by the board. A sad day???? Finally we will get someone in that office that knows what they were doing. And what does the above comment have to do with Sheri?????

What is going on down there? We can't believe that Cheri has done something so awful that she has gotten fired! We are still owners
of Regency Cove, even though we are at home up North now. We would
appreciate knowing what is wrong down there. How can just a few people make all the decisions in the park? Did you wait until the majority of us headed north to do this? We ARE UPSET with the way the board is handling business down there and we want to know what is going on!~ Joyce and Al
I am retiring to get away from all the politics and bull@#$%. I will be the first to admit I don't know exactly what is going on down there, but I am looking forward to peaceful sunsets on the point not more of what I am leaving.

Its funny that some board members are going house to house now. Why didn't they do that last month, to ask what we thought? The only thing they care about is their own asses.

Common sense says you dont have the three employees of the park related in the same family,and none are shareholders.The park manager,office mgr,,and maintence mgr.I am not accusing any of wrong but never understood why the board let this happen.I wont get in volve in this insanity-i moved here for sanity-and wish i never had moved in this petty park.Sherri has been great.
Part 2.The rest of the story-i have been here for several years as a shareholder-sorry i dont have spellcheck.I have been lied to from day one when i bought here.After being told certain things from Tom i found out later they where lies 6 months after i moved and received the book of park rules, etc.I had ask for approval on a project and was told by a board member if i did some work for him it would be appreciated.Leadership is not power or control or self interest,circle of freinds,possible votes,etc.The by-laws say no solictious in park-yet these fools want me to get caught up in their petty politics and knock on my door.IMHO the board like our congress does not give a dam about Joe Lunchbucket.I will never bee intersested in Park Politics-the goal seems to be not the coommunity interest-and your just pi--ing in the wind.I was told no pets allow in the park and 1 year later they grandfather them in and printed the list in the park paper.Feel like a renter not a owner with the lack of leadership and special favors to some/clique.I know this requires Bolgger Approvel-Dahhhhh the 1st Admendment? The beat goes on-the Golden rule-"whoever has the gold makes the rules"
May 15..there was another successful meeting held last nite re: "the event". Unfortuntely, after the meeting, outside, there were several "out of control", first grader outbursts that happened. Ignorance always surfaces. We are in the right ...the truth hurts those in the wrong.
I said in my post that Sherri(Cheri) has been great-I mistype i meant to say Pegggy. Cheri will not be missed by me at all-should have never been placed in that position.IMHO

We agree with Al and Joyce they said it best. We don't know if the firing was justified or not, but we do believe the process was totally flawed.

OK, I'm gonna try this again and see if this one gets posted!!!!! The BOD dismissed Cheri, not Betty Ridge. If Cheri had done her job as good as everyone seems to think, she would still be here. Follow through was NOT one of her assets. Secret meetings? Don't think so. Cheri was well aware that she was on probation for her performance and guess what, time was up! Don't forget, because of the hard work of THIS BOARD, we did not have a maintenance fee increase for the first time in YEARS!!!!!

What is going on in our "wonderful" park. If I am not mistaken Cheri was our park manager years ago and was let go. Why was she hired back? I do believe before she was hired there was a group of people that wanted to recall the board. What? when something is not going your way you want to recall or fire someone. When she became our new park manager you had to have an appointment to speak to her, maybe in the beginning she was busy but thats the way it was until her departure unless you were in the "in crowd". Like some one said why do we have three Scobee's running our park. I do not believe Cheri has been doing her job properly.
There are 9 people who dedicate there time an energy to serve on our board. Some of them may be your friend, you may not like, may not even know, but they are working hard to keep our park going. Just because you do not like what they are doing doen not mean you recall them. Put yourself in there shoes. They need to make decisions to benefit the whole park not just a certin few. Yes, I have been upset at some of there decisions but I have not run for the board either. There are approx. 400 units in the park so how many people does that make that could run for the board???? If you are not happy with the board run for the board and if you have an not been elected I wonder WHY? I have been at board meetings and heard that certain group that likes to voice there opinion under there breath why don't they run for the board?
Its to bad that we all can't get along and this has to happen when the snowbirds have gone north.
I first would like to say that there are tree types of people that are the most despicable: a theif, a liar and a coward. All you people who make comments under the mask of annonimity are nothing but cowards. Some statements that you make have some validity. You would get more respect if you signed your name.
But when a person will not state their name I feel that they don't believe that strongly in what they are saying.
So consequently I pay no attention to them. In reference to the issue of three family members working here: I remember when Peggy tore up her knee she continued to work at the window. She would hobble up in much pain. I'm sure that with her "family connections" she could have gotten some easier assignments. If anyone has ever hurt their knee you will know that the pain is excruciating. Not long ago Ed was admitted to the hospital with serious pain but was back on the job the very next day and is one of the very few people who knows and understands the infrastructure of the park. He would be very difficult to replace.As I have stated before Cheri is one of the very few people who knows and understands Chapter 719. I remember a few years ago a woman stood up at a Board Meeting and said, " Would someone please tell me what the hell is Chapter 719?"
That pretty well sums up the knowledge of most people in the park. This is the most important law that we have. Very soon after Cheri arrived in the park certain people started making rediculous complaints such as the hall was not as clean and they didn't like how she dressed. It is difficult to discover why some valid reasons were given to show that she was not performing her job well. After being released the first time she worked here she studied and took classes to be certified as a park manager. I can't believe that the prior management would have hired her if they didn't believe that she was competent. I have disagreed with many things but never accused them of not having sound judgement. Some feel that hiring several members of a family could be detrimental to the park. The same is true when some Board members form a group to accomplish things for their own gain and not for the majority of the residents. Workers who perform poorly can be fired but getting rid of trouble making Board members can be done only by not voting for them or by recall.
I have read all the comments and wonder why some are afraid to give their name. Stand up and be counted.
Cheri has been a GREAT MANAGER and I for one am sorry to see her go. However if the board had a good reason I would like to know what it was. Did our new manager sign a contract and for how much money.
Oh I forgot we were never informed that the board had hired a new manager. It seems the powers to be want to control the manager and complete control of the park. However WE as a group will show respect for EVERYONE IN THE PARK

Once again common sense says you dont have 3 members of the same family in a postion of influence of the park daily operations.I will say that Ed and Peggy have been great.Cheri will not be miss by me and should not have been hired as the third family member.It would not happen in a corperation and the possiblilty of conflict is for the shareholders benefit.As for the expressing of one opinon as being Anonymous we do that every time we vote for congress or the president.Wake up and smell the coffe.Use some common sense and Cheri should have never been hired-i cant beleive the Tamapa Bay area had no one else qualfied.Dahhhhhhh

Is it possible that by firing Cheri Scobee (A real estate sales person), Betty Ridge (our President and a real estate sales person ) will MONOPOLIZE the real estate business in the Park?
Is it possible Elaine Belba (the rehab lady and Betty Ridge’s number ONE soldier) will benefit from “THE BETTY RIDGE MONOPOLY” by having inside knowledge of home sales that she can rehab and sell for a profit?
Is it true Betty Ridge and our BOARD OF Directors is turning a blind eye on Dennis Hays’ (Betty Ridge’s number two soldier) unlicensed BUSINESS in the Park?
Is it true there is a GOON SQUAD roaming The PARK, intimidating our senior citizens to vote not to recall Betty Ridge?

The goon squad you refer to was going around the park distorting facts (as are you) and intimidating people into signing a recall petition. They did it in a clandistine manner( re-Hitler ). They held meetings that only their goon squad was alerted to. This is what we had before(re-sea wall). Get your facts strait and stop spreading lies and rumors. What license does Dennis need for pulling weeds
I want to say that I remain Anonymous for my own personal reasons. I do not have to tell anyone who I am, but I do want to say this. I agree with rmiller in the fact that the "goon squad" was doing all the above things UNDER THE TABLE. Only the chosen few were informed about their meetings, and having personally talked with some that did sign the petition, they were lied to totally. And the board members who want to stay "neutral", WHY ARE YOU THE ONES ATTENDING THESE MEETINGS???? And once again, Cheri WAS NOT FIRED!! NO ONE WALKED HER OUT!!! And we've been here long enough to know that the previous boards did a lot of things that they should have been recalled, the whole bunch. Many, many things were done that the shareholders found out about after the fact.This board and I'm saying the whole board, has done more for this park than the previous boards.
WOW.......It ought to be enlightening today at 1pm. I hope, but I doubt the meeting will remain "civil".
this is a very angry community, very sad day! Such a great place to visit, great people.....what is going on there? For anyone to loose a job in these times is a shame, but to rub it in when you don't know the whole story, just imagine having 7 Bosses going at the same time!! She must be relieved, her last bought with ill health would be nothing!!!
We all do thing wrong, mess up, but 7 people watching, (BOD) with all different personalities, demands, priorities, the lady never had a chance! This has been in the making to reduce office staff, well its done!
Once again people got the facts wrong.There are 9 people on the board and the majority agreed to replace her. This was not a personal reduction as she was replaced.The board does not have to explain replacing her as this is a personel matter.Get your hearing aid fixed,get your facts straight,stop spreading lies and if you are afraid to sign your name to what you say dont say it. We have never had a "split" board like this before. The majority WAS NOT in favor of the Cheri thing. Talk about getting facts straight.!!!!!!! Dennis Kralick has the right idea in asking the members how they feel....the board should have been doing this long ago.We elected them to represent US, not for their personal gains, or agendas.
Once again your facts are wrong and self serving.If you would attend the meetings and listen, you would see the board split on severalitems and several occasions. Dennis Kralick is fairly new to the park and doesn't know or care to learn the past history.(re.last meeting I quote if you have enough money to own a boat you should be able to pay the fee.) We are currently getting our feet under us and now the queen wants to get her hands on the reins again.If youlook at the names on the paper that came with the recall ballot you will see the names of those that are formenting the trouble. they are the ones that started ALL of this trouble in the begining.The queen can't be satisfied with someone doing a better job than her running the park,ergo she has to stir up trouble and start rummors and lies. There has always been a split board. and now Ellen Nimon wants to destroy our Park. Shame on her. Ellen Nimom had secret meetings, Bobbleheads that voted what she wanted, she never asked the shareholders what they wanted. We were not able to talk. Dennis had his personnel gains and has received them,not every Board member is for personnel gains.
The Board was in a MAJORITY in favor of letting Cheri go Get your facts straight. Tell Ellen to enjoy her retirement and stay out of the Board affairs or run for it next year. She should be made to get up and let the shareholders know the mess she put this Park in, and maybe the shareholders would be glad they have a Board that is working for the good of the Park. The Recall she sent out was nothing but a bunch of lies. Shame on all of you that have your name on there. WHY don't you try and make this a Park that stops gossings all the time..TELL THE TRUTH
Well, it's been 2 weeks, and the backstabbing continues as fast and furious as it did the first few days. So many of these questions have been answered but ignored. Cudos to the residents who have spoken up against the goon squad! Cheri, well, that's another subject: It take a majority of the board vote. If anyone can add out there, that makes at least 5, the votes needed to make it happen. And the previous boards did do a lot of things under the table that costs this park a huge amount of money. We are making payments on our loan? I did not know that, but I'm sure glad we are!!!

I just want to be neutral??? You are on the board, for god's sake, and you were in on all of these decisions. Are you telling me that Betty Ridge twisted your arm and sat on you until you gave in and voted yes? In that case, YOU should be recalled. I'd be glad to start the process.

I want to thank all of the goons who did not invite me to their secret meetings. This shows me that they know who has the brains to figure out what they are doing and not believe any of their lies. To me it was a compliment to me and my friends that the dummies they brought in to do their dirty work avoided us like the plague.
