Board Votes on Seawall

After over an hour of discussion from the floor, the board voted this morning for Reuben Clarson to design specs for replacment of the seawall. In the weeks to come, the board will be receiving sealed bids, and then the financing part of the project can be arranged.

Praise and Blame Are All The Same

At 10am on Saturday morning, the Board of Directors will finally receive a recommendation from the independent Seawall Committee to vote on whether to repair the seawall in places where it is needed, or to replace the seawall with a new one. This is a very formidible, if not unpopular topic today in Regency Cove. I'm sure every Director on the Board has heard from friends, neighbors, and other residents who are not usually involved with us, who gave us their opinions. As a Director, we are always in the uncomfortable position to make decisions that represent all of the shareholders of the park. I would like to share the following exerpt with my fellow Board members, and with all of you shareholders. Feel free to comment at the end.

I hope tomorrow that all our Directors vote their conscience. In the event of a seawall catastrophe in the near future, all of us may be be held accountable. If the new seawall continues hold firm and barricade us from storm damage in the future, we will no doubt become anonymous fixtures in Regency Cove history.

Seawall Consultant To Report at Board Meeting

Reuben H. Clarson, the consultant who was hired to evaluate our seawall this summer, will be present to speak and answer questions at the Board meeting this Saturday November 17, 2007, at 10 am.

Engineer Surveys Seawall

You may have seen a man walking the seawall at low tide. He is Reuben Clarson, who has been hired to survey the seawall, and give us a professional report of its condition.

Reuben has a significant engineering history with regards to seawalls, marinas, bridges, and bulkheads from private to port properties. He has worked for port authorities in several states and in the Bahamas.
