Some Regency Cove residents have been without water for most of the day today, in what has proven to be a botched Gandy Improvement repair. Water was supposed to be off intermittently throughout the morning, as a new water pipe was put in place by the Gandy Improvement project going on right outside our front gate. Seems that someone FORGOT to hook Regency Cove back into the new main that was installed.
Calls continued to come in from residents on Pelican and Parkway, the office staff and manager notified Tampa Water Dept about the lack of notice before the long shut-off. Ed Scobee conferred with the Gandy Construction Supervisor, and after 2:00pm, the Supervisor was notified of his mistake. Let's hope that water is back now.
Let your councilman John Dingfelder know about your displeasure. Six hours without water is a long intermittent period. Write him at
john.dingfelder@tampagov.net or call him at 274-8133.

Ms. Ross,
The Tampa Water Department is aware that the Regency Cove water service was inadvertently not transfered to the new water main before the old water main was taken out of service today. The FDOT contractor has provided a temporary connection to provide water tonight. The permanent transfer will be completed tomorrow. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused.

From our Councilman:
I am sorry for the inconvenience that you and your neighbors have suffered. Cindy has forwarded your email to various City folks. By copy of this email I also want her to send it to the DOT as this is their project. Please let us know if you anything else goes wrong!
