A little over an hour ago, about 10:40 am, a twister left the bay west of the Newport construction site across the street, and took out our familiar sign. Before that, it devastated the little bait shop next door to Gandy Bait and Tackle. Debris from their exterior showed up on our driveway.
The twister moved east on Gandy knocking down the barricades along the road. It disappeared by the time it hit West Shore.
Our sign (valued around $6,000) will need to be replaced. The other sign was found intact along the fence. No one was hurt. Just another day in Paradise.
