New Board Member and Officer

At the BOD meeting this afternoon, a new board member was nominated and chosen to fill the vacancy left by Ron Herb's resignation. Betty Ridge is now the newest member of the Board.
The office of president position went up for nominations, and the following two names were brought up, Susan Dunphy and Paul McCumber. A secret ballot was conducted by the directors and the results were announced by our manager Cheri. Paul McCumber is now the new president of Regency Cove. Susan will remain as vice-president. Rose and Sandy remain in their respective offices as Treasurer and Secretary. The new board photo....

Regency Cove Family

I heard of a place that was once a big Family of retired people sticking together for the better of all, where things were considered in how they would affect all a little retirement village where the people came first. I read about it in a book it was a dream, but if you stay alive long enough do your dreams fade or does a new more powerful crowd move in.

In decisions of money (oh and isn’t always about the money) all residents/shareholders should have a mail out Ballot. Social security is not giving a raise for the next 2years but we in our ultimate wisdom have decided to raise assoc. fees.

We have decided to have way too many employees for a small park as we are and decided to have an office of way too many people to police the park we have a lot of goofy ideas we should address problems as they arise not go out looking for them.

To stream line our expenses we should have 2 maintenance men and one office manager and maybe they shouldn’t be all family (that’s a little ridicules) maybe all us lazy people should take our trash to the dumpster.
We have a lawn service we have outside people for the streets and park. We have to call plumbers, ac repair and electricians.
Property should be sold by outside realty companies not our office at our expense.

The Office should only give out gate clickers and visitor passes and process complaints (not keep track of our cat, our boat our car registrations we are grown ups and sometimes we don’t act it and that’s ok we have dignity anyway. A letter once in awhile gives us a jump start. Other times its just antagonistic
Proper business sense says it’s not cost effective to keep the same employees to long because of the benefits included. People are taking pay cuts to keep their jobs right now.

Who looks out for the people who can’t do it all anymore do we just say oh well or do we harass people over a tree, cat boat, we should take all the things one situation at a time and help each other.
We have people that are afraid to voice an opinion, people who think nobody cares about them and Think that there is no purpose in coming to a meeting that the board is going to do what ever they want to.

If things are going to change the Board members need to go out and meet the people they are making decisions for. There is a reason some people don’t show up isn’t it the boards job to find out why and what they need and want. Nobody wants to attend a meeting where they don’t feel excepted.

Let’s take care of the folks who need help. Let us Pray and ask God each morning what you can do for the less fortunate and the people in need.

I am one of those people that don’t attend I am afraid it is all to messy but I want to help
